"Catfish Stew" Original 18x32 Acrylic Painting

"Catfish Stew" is on the menu tonight! I just finished this dimensional commission tonight. It is for Alex who lives in NY, but studies armoured catfish all over the world. It was a challenge and great fun to get all of the patterns, textures, shapes and colors, along with the proper fish size, what substrate they feed on (wood, sand or rocks)... all in one painting! I now have quite an appreciation for how strange and beautiful these fish are. Let me know how many fish you see...

We took a nice walk along the Willamette River and there were roses blooming and sweet blackberries under the maple trees overlooking the river... beautiful!
