"Spring Rabbits" Original 8x10 Acrylic Painting

Please note, this might be my last post for a month as I leave for New Zealand tomorrow morning and return March 24th. I will try and post photos and sketches, while I am gone, but I'm not sure how easy this will be!
"Spring Rabbits" is my last little painting. It is an 8x10 acrylic on canvas for $125.
The rain has been melting away our snow and everyone is restless for spring, These two little rabbits feel that way too! By the time I get back from NZ it will surely be spring. ~Take Care, Melissa SOLD

Three Copper Crows, wall sculptures

Today I had a great day playing with copper. I cut out these copper crows, sanded them and hammered designs in them. I used a metal primer on them and then painted them with bright acrylic designs. I left the beaks and claws with the copper showing. There is a hook behind them so they can hang on a wall. They are whimsical and great fun. They remind me of the recycled oil drum pieces I loved when I was in Haiti. They are approximately 10x6 inches and are priced at $65. each. If you are interested in them please contact me. "Blue Crow" SOLD "Green Crow" SOLD

"Moorish Kiss" Original 26x48 Acrylic Painting

My lovely mermaid is finally done! She is titled "Moorish Kiss" for the moorish idol hovering in front of her lips. This complicated piece has panels of wood and canvas, all attached to one back. There is even an indented section where the secretive seahorse resides. The three dimensional pieces are created with air-dry clay attached to the board. Lots of texture and metallics in this work. I had a wonderful time doing her, but I think I need to work on something small next! SOLD

"Salmon Squared" Original 36x36 Acrylic Painting

A dark and dreary day... it is trying to snow. But nestled in my cozy studio I finished one of the three pieces I have been working on over the weekend. It is titled "Salmon Squared" and is made up of 9 individual 12x12 panels. Some of these panels are wood and some are canvas. Two of the center pieces have an indented rectangle within them. I have used molding paste to create the heavily textured water and pieces of air-dry clay to add dimension to some of the salmon. The whole painting is approximately 36 x 36 and hangs in three sections like a triptych. It will be hanging in my Tinman Gallery show through the month of April with the opening on March 27th. It is priced at $2,425. please contact me if you are interested. SOLD

"Midnight Raven" Original 8x8 Acrylic Painting

Another day another bird! I am waiting for all of my air-dry clay pieces to dry before I can start on my large mermaid and salmon pieces... hopefully tomorrow. In the meantime I am amusing myself with some small canvases. Venus has been shining brightly in the sky beside the moon, so I included her! "Midnight Raven" is on an 8x8 gallery wrapped canvas. The green textured border continues over each side, so no frame is needed. This piece is available for $125. SOLD

"Winter Robin" Original 5x7 Acrylic Painting

This morning when I looked out the kitchen window I saw three robins hopping about on the frozen snow. They flew up into the trees and puffed up as if they had no necks at all! I had to work on taxes all day, but I finally finished and my reward was this little "Winter Robin" . It is on a thick 5"x7" x1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The textured border continues on both sides so there is no need for a frame. It is $95.
