I was commissioned to create this memorial dog "Blue Dog" for a couple who had lost three Newfoundland dogs. He has a rebar armature, foam core and fiberglass mesh center with layers of concrete and finally glass mosaic and epoxy grout. He can live inside or out.

A fun little 8x16 Christmas commission titled "Key to my Heart". I really enjoy commissions most of all because I can add personal touches to make them unique and special.
I'm finally messing around with some of the techniques I learned at my concrete sculpture workshop in Tennessee last summer. Lots of fun! This one is approximately 15x15x7 for $575. She has fused glass accents and barbed wire hair.
"Love me, love me not" is the name of this 8x10 acrylic on canvas. The circles are recycled pieces of paint left over from the dried paint on my pallet. $285.
This painting was inspired by the leaping coho salmon I saw in Issaquah, WA in October. It is a mixed media piece on wood with painted wood frame and has acrylic paint, stones, turquoise, amber, glass and mirror in it. It is 24x48 for $2,245.
SOLD Another mixed media conglomeration! This is a textured acrylic on multi-leveled wood panel with fused glass accents. It is 10x30 and there is a peacock feather border on the 2" sides, for $585.
I really liked "Midnight Assignation" but it is currently living at the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland, so I made a similar but larger design for my upcoming show at the Bozzi Collection. This one is a textured acrylic on gallery wrapped 20x60 canvas for $1,975.

Artist Melissa Cole often finds herself snorkeling with salmon, smooching manatees, and swimming with tiger sharks. It is from these amazing encounters that she derives much of the inspiration for her vividly colored, heavily textured and patterned acrylic paintings.
Cole was born in Oregon and raised in London, Hong Kong, and India. She graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Zoology and spent time as a naturalist guide in Mexico. She’s written over 30 children’s natural history books and travels with her husband Brandon, who is a wildlife photographer specializing in marine life. Melissa has always dabbled in art, but has spent the last ten years fully devoted to it. She is strongly influenced by ethnic patterns, which she sees in her travels abroad. “You’ll find lots of dots, and a distinct border pattern in each of my pieces.” Her work is found in galleries ranging from Stephan Fine Arts in Anchorage, Alaska to The Wild Side Gallery in Key West, Florida.
