Lewiston Pedestrian Bridge Installation "Confluence" (of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers)

Back to Lewiston today to take a look at "Confluence" in the light.  It was unfortunately still very gray....I can't wait to see it in the sunshine someday!  I needed to clean up the mirrors that are covering the bolts, tie up loose ends, and make sure that the excess part of the bolts were being cut off....which they were.  It is fun to see it all up there!

Lewiston Gateway Project Pedestrian Bridge Installation

Link to Article in Lewiston Tribune

Well despite the chilly weather we got everything installed.  It took three long days and lots of hard work, but we made it.  I can't thank Brandon, my friends, Lewiston's volunteers, Beautiful Downtown Lewiston's public art coordinators Courtney and Breanne, TD & H engineer Dave, Albright Construction's Doug Smith and many many others enough.  Without them this absolutely wouldn't have been possible!

Lewiston Gateway Project in Progress 12.6.2012

Well, I'm finally finished with the 100 foot long snake that will go on the inside of the bridge.  It is made up of 35 panels weighing between 15 and 35 pounds each.  The snake head on the inside does not have a forked metal tongue like the outer snake for the protection of people and also the tongue.  This will be the last of the progress pictures as we install next weekend!
