Convention Center Progress report #1

Sorry, no posts lately...I have been working away on my HUGE commission for the Spokane Convention Center. This project is due by March, but I have a number of trips coming up so I have to work like a little ant while I am home!
The bottom level is wood in curves of different thicknesses (dimesions) with glass mosaic and acrylic paint. The second tier is a mix of wood and canvas panels, with glass mosaic, fused glass tile and acrylic paint, the third and fourth tiers will be canvas and wood panels with acrylic paint and a few three dimensional creatures coming up off them (heron, ducks and trout). I hope that you enjoy watching this coming together.

"Sandhill Sonnet" Original 12x18 Acrylic Painting

Just finished "Sandhill Sonnet" a 12x18 original acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. The textured leaf border extends over the two sides. This painting is an anniversary present commissioned for a couple in Michigan by the groom's sister. During their fall wedding, the couple had time planned for their guests to view migrating sandhill cranes at a nearby lake...oh sweet!

"Sandhill Sonnet" sketch

Back from an excellent mini-vacation with Brandon at the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. I did this sketch there for an upcoming commission of sand hill cranes.
