Catfish Stew Sketch

A long weekend spent at the mall (for the Artshow). I did manage to get this commission sketch done for Alex, who studies armoured catfish all over the world. I have learned a lot about these fish while preparing for this commission and they are totally amazing creatures... so many interesting fins, scales, mouths, and body shapes. This will be a three dimensional piece approximately 18 x 32 on wood with airdry clay accents.

Eve with Red Raven Sketch

No painting today, but I worked on the sketch for an upcoming commissioned painting of Eve with a red raven in the Garden of Eden.

This will be a puzzle painting. My idea was to make it seem like you were looking through an arbor of tropical fruits, flowers and vegetation onto a scene of Eve near the tree of knowledge. The snake is asleep in the upper branches and she is vacillating between picking the forbidden fruit or not and looking to the red raven for advice. Of course ravens (especially red ones!) are known tricksters and not to be trusted!

I will upload the painting someday when it is finished.
