"Turquoise Days Amber Nights" Original mixed media 24x48 Painting

This painting was inspired by the leaping coho salmon I saw in Issaquah, WA in October.  It is a mixed media piece on wood with painted wood frame and has acrylic paint, stones, turquoise, amber, glass and mirror in it.  It is 24x48 for $2,245.

"Salmon Leap" Mosaic Mirror

Working until all hours of the night/morning I got this mosaic on mirror done in time to hang it in my show at Barrister Winery today! It is glass and mosaiced concrete sculpture on mirror. 24x36 for $975.

Happy Christmas Eve! I have been working away on my first large concrete sculpture (looks a little like a giant salmon wreath!) since I took my classes this summer. This will hang outside underneath the peak of a roof. Each concrete salmon is between two to three and a half feet long and has a copper tube through the center of it. I first sculpted the three salmon from polystyrene foam and then coated each in layers of concrete and fiberglass mesh for strength. After the concrete cures, I will mosaic each fish with a variety of stained and fused glass. I can't wait for that part!

Institute of Mosaic Art Class

Yeah! Finished up my first class at the Institute of Mosaic Art in Oakland, CA. Exterior concepts...it was great fun and I learned a lot. Tomorrow I start "Mosaic Summer Camp" for a week. Here are a few pics from class

"Summer Picnic" Original 24x52 Acrylic Painting

Since Brandon recently had knee surgery he is stuck at home for most of the summer. At least he is able to ride a bike now and we have been enjoying summer picnics along the river during our bike rides. That is the title of my newest painting "Summer Picnic" , a 24x52 triptych. Original acrylic on canvas and wood panels with mosaic accents in the rocks. The three panels are attached via hooks and hang as one piece. Price is $2,475 and this painting is also heading up to the Entree Gallery in Nordman, ID for my August 1st show "NW Hues".

"Croc Tock" 12x25 Acrylic Painting

Time for a new post...just finished my piece for the upcoming Peter Pan theme show at the Tinman Gallery. This is a 12x25 Acrylic on wood painting with glass mosaic accents for $575. It was a lot of fun and the purple and green iridescents in it are really pretty.

"Pink Salmon Passion" 20x40 Mosaic

I am finally finished with this mosaic piece titled "Pink Salmon Passion". It will be going into my show "Sea Dimensional" this summer at the Seattle Aquarium.
It is a mosaic piece consisting of stained glass, fused glass bubbles, porcelain tile, and hand sculpted and painted clay (fish) with acrylic paint on the border. It is on three dimensional wood panels all mounted to one back and it is not very heavy-a relief!

It sells for $2,495.

"Bathtub Turtles" 18x21 Mosaic Mirror

Good Evening...chilly with a bit of snow for us here. I finally finished my interior mosaic class, which I took from Jan Wilhelmi in Coeur d' Alene at the Creative Element. She is a great teacher and I learned a lot.

Here is my first project..."Bathtub Turtles". Appropriately it will go on the wall above my tub to keep my Mexican and Haitian sculptures company.
